The Big Giant Round Ball in the Sky

You would think that taking a photo of a full moon would be easy. After all, its the only big giant round ball in the night sky. But staring at it during the night brings on a little condition called moon blindness. In other words you can’t see a damn thing other than the big giant round ball in the sky. Most of the other stars get washed out, so forget about trying to align your fully automated telescope. You just end up mindlessly pushing buttons trying to chase it for half an hour.

The moon really moves. The trick is to start taking photos when the moon is here …

and then stop when its here.

And then letting the software do the work. With Registax, you can align and stack all the images into this fuzzy creation. Not particularly clear, but still nice.
