Drinking the Kool-Aid

I haven’t been updating this blog much lately. I’ve had my hands full with poopy diapers. 🙂 In my spare time (what little there is), I’ve been slowly getting back into the OM development.

I’m not quite sure why, but I took a second look at Java. In the past, I’ve avoided Java because the syntax is (IMHO) ugly-as-sin. Python obviously spoiled me. But understanding that you can do some pretty cool stuff with Java and for sheer portability reasons, I’ve decided to drink the Kool-aid.

Wrapping my brain around Java OOP is slow and painful, but I am very impressed with the Netbeans IDE and GUI builder. Orbital Motion is being renamed Java Ephemeris Manager (JEM). I’m adopting some javascript tools I found online and hopefully can turn them into a smooth application.
